All should pay attention to retain students at schools: Minister Pokharel

Kathmandu –Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Girirajmani Pokharel, has said that students are not retained at schools due to poor financial status, geographical difficulties and social ill practice. 


At special hour of today's meeting of the House of Representatives, Minister Pokharel informed the House about the beginning of the second-phase students' enrollment campaign. 


Stressing the need of paying attention by all – guardians, teachers and local-level to retain the students at school, he said that the government was going to set up a separate to acquire information why the children were not enrolled at schools. 


Minister Pokharel said, "Some 11,959 children from class 1-5 and 59,733 children from class 6-12 are still out of schools. The second-phase campaign was launched to enroll them at school."
