Samaj Dental Hospital Launches Rs 1 Crore Treatment Fund for Underprivileged Patients

Kathmandu - Samaj Dental Hospital has announced a Rs 1 crore treatment fund to provide free dental care for impoverished and disadvantaged citizens. The initiative was unveiled during the hospital's 25th anniversary celebrations.

Expanding Access to Dental Care
The hospital, which currently operates from 10 locations across Kathmandu Valley and Kavre district, aims to expand its services to all 77 districts of Nepal. Established in 2058 BS (2001 AD), Samaj Dental has been providing specialized dental healthcare services with a focus on making quality treatment accessible to all.

Leadership Perspectives
Managing Director Shanku Ghimire emphasized the hospital's commitment to serving underprivileged communities through this new fund. "Our goal has always been to ensure everyone has access to quality dental care, regardless of their financial situation," Ghimire stated. Founder Shyamkumar Ghimire, also a Nepali Congress leader, outlined plans for nationwide service expansion and workforce development.

Government Support
Health Minister Pradeep Paudel, speaking at the anniversary event, highlighted the importance of dental care in promoting medical tourism. He stressed the need for improved management and expansion of dental services across the country.

Future Plans
The hospital's leadership revealed ambitious plans to:

  • Conduct public awareness campaigns

  • Train more dental professionals

  • Continue providing subsidized treatments
