Balloon explosion injures Pokhara Mayor Acharya

Pokhara, February 15 — Pokhara Mayor Dhanraj Acharya was injured when a balloon, prepared for the inauguration of Visit Pokhara Year, popped during the event.

The balloon, which featured a banner with the Visit Pokhara Year logo, exploded while being released.  

Acharya was taken to the hospital for treatment, with reports indicating his injuries were minor.

During the incident, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel rushed to the stage, also sustaining minor injuries.
