Cultural diversity is key to Nepali identity: Prachanda

Kathmandu, November 2 — Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', chairperson of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre), stated that the various festivals celebrated in Nepal play a significant role in fostering unity, social harmony, and tolerance among the people, thus awakening a national spirit.

In a message of goodwill today for festivals such as Deepawali, Nepal Sambat 1145, Chhath, Falguni Jayanti, and Guru Nanak Jayanti, he emphasized that cultural diversity is a fundamental aspect of Nepali identity.

Former Prime Minister Dahal made it clear that the preservation and development of all ethnicities, languages, religions, cultures, and civilizations are essential for the country's prosperity. Acknowledging the substantial loss of life and property caused by recent floods and landslides, he expressed hope that all Nepalis would find opportunities to celebrate their cultural festivals despite the challenges.
