New Labour Counselors and Attachés appointed for Gulf countries

Kathmandu, October 25 — The Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security has appointed a Labour Counselor for Saudi Arabia and the UAE, as well as a Labour Attaché for Qatar and Bahrain. Mr. Kabi Raj Upreti, an Undersecretary and Assistant Spokesperson for the Ministry, has been designated as the Labour Counselor for Saudi Arabia, while Mr. Deependra Paudel has been appointed for the UAE.

Undersecretary Maiya Kandel remains on the waiting list for the Labour Counselor position. The appointments were made following an evaluation in accordance with the Procedures and Standards for Selection and Appointment of Labour Counselors and Attachés, 2016.

Additionally, Mr. Prem Prasad Pokharel has been appointed as the Labour Attaché for Qatar, and Ms. Sunita Thapa for Bahrain. Mr. Dhan Kumar Rajak is currently on the waiting list for a similar role.

At present, Mr. Din Bandhu Subedi serves as the Labour Counselor in the UAE, while Mr. Devendra Karki holds the same position in Saudi Arabia. In Bahrain, Ms. Jamuna Kafle and Mr. Krishna Paudel are serving as Labour Attachés.

The Ministry is also in the process of appointing Labour Counselors for South Korea, Qatar, and Malaysia, as well as Labour Attachés for the Nepalese Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the Nepalese Consulate General in Jeddah, and for Malaysia and Oman.
