One dead, 16 injured in Surkhet bus accident
Surkhet, October 24 — An SML vehicle has met with an accident in Surkhet, resulting in the death of 35-year-old Deepak Shahi from Dailekh's Thantikandh Rural Municipality-4.
The incident occurred on Thursday morning around 7 a.m. at a location known as Hudke in Barahatal Rural Municipality-8, involving the Karnali Province vehicle numbered 0221 Kha 1014, which was en route from Jumla to Birendranagar.
Shahi was currently residing in Birendranagar Municipality-1. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Bir Bishwakarma from the Surkhet District Police Office, Shahi was critically injured and was taken to Karnali Hospital in Surkhet.
The hospital later declared him deceased. Additionally, Bishwakarma informed that six other individuals were injured in the accident.
The injured are receiving treatment at Karnali Care Hospital.
The vehicle, which was carrying 29 passengers, lost control and crashed off the side of the road, as confirmed by Bishwakarma to Ratopati.
