One dead, two injured in motorcycle collision in Jhapa

Jhapa, October 11 — A collision between two motorcycles at Hanuman Chowk in Bhadrapur Municipality-10 has resulted in one death and two injuries.

The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Alok Bhandari from Bhadrapur-10, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Chand from the District Police Office.

The accident occurred on Thursday night when a motorcycle with the number Province 1-01-014 PA 993, coming from Charaali towards Chandragadhi, collided with another motorcycle, ME 8 PA 2835, coming from the opposite direction.

Alok, who was riding on the back of the motorcycle driven by his father Trilochan Bhandari, was taken to Om Sai Pathibhara Hospital in Bhadrapur, where he was declared dead by the doctors, said spokesperson Chand.

In the accident, 24-year-old Bipansu Raut, who was also riding on the motorcycle with the number Province 1-01-014 PA 993, is currently receiving treatment at Om Sai Pathibhara Hospital in Bhadrapur, and his condition is stable.

The rider of the other motorcycle, 25-year-old Sanjeev Giri from Bhadrapur-8, is undergoing treatment at B&C Hospital in Birtamod, and his condition is reported to be serious, according to the District Police Office.
