One dead, three injured from gas cylinder explosion in Rautahat
Rautahat, October 9 — One person has died, and three others have been injured when a gas cylinder exploded while inflating balloons at a fair in Rajpur Municipality-7 of Rautahat.
Dinanath Mahato, a 38-year-old balloon vendor from Nimuwa Akolawa, was inflating balloons at the fair on Wednesday afternoon when the cylinder suddenly exploded.
Additionally, 10-year-old Anjali Kumar Sah, 50-year-old Nayanaa Devi, and 7-year-old Bishal Sah were injured.
Most of Dinanath's body was burned, and after receiving initial treatment at the provincial hospital in Gaur, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to Birgunj for further treatment, as stated by District Police Spokesperson DSP Deepak Kumar Rai.
The body of the deceased has been sent to the provincial hospital in Gaur for an autopsy. The other injured individuals are receiving treatment at the provincial hospital, according to the Rautahat District Police Office.
