Traffic disruptions: Key routes blocked
Kathmandu, October 2 — Traffic remains closed today in the area of the broken bridge at Nakkhudol in Lalitpur. However, vehicle movement in other parts of the Kathmandu Valley is normal.
Due to landslides in various locations, vehicles entering and exiting the valley via the BP Highway, Pharping, and Kanti Lokpath are still unable to operate today. The BP Highway has been completely blocked for several days because the Roshi River has cut through roads in various places in Kavrepalanchok.
In Sindhuli, landslides in various locations in Golanjor Rural Municipality and Fikkal Rural Municipality-2 have obstructed traffic on the Mid-Hills Highway.
Similarly, in Manthali Municipality-6 of Ramechhap, the Sunkoshi River washed away a bridge, completely halting vehicle movement on the Khurkot-Manthali route.
Traffic has also been affected due to the collapse of a bridge connecting Rautamai Rural Municipality-5 in Udaypur and Khotehang Rural Municipality-11 in Khotang, which is part of the Sagarmatha Highway.
On the Mechi Highway, the suspension bridge at Hewa Khola connecting Phidim Municipality in Panchthar and Hilehang Rural Municipality has been washed away by floods, blocking access. However, vehicle movement is still ongoing from other routes.
