Friday release: 'Sano Sansar' and 'Aankha' premiere across Nepal

Kathmandu, September 27 — The films "Sano Sansar" and "Aankha" have premiered starting this Friday. These two films, with distinct storylines, have been released simultaneously across the country.

Both films tell different tales. "Sano Sansar" is centered around a middle-class family, while "Aankha" explores the lives of residents in a squatter settlement along the Bagmati River. Both films are expected to attract audiences, according to their production teams.

Sano Sansar

Produced by Arjun Kumar, "Sano Sansar" poignantly depicts the hardships, difficulties, and struggles faced by a middle-class family due to economic challenges. The film had its premiere on Wednesday evening. Directed by Siddharth Pudasaini, the cast includes Sitadevi Timilsena (played by the wife of Kedar Ghimire, known as 'Magne Buda'), Anu Dahal, Raj Pangeni Sharma, Anjasa Rijal, Shishir Shiwakoti, Sarita Bhandari, and Jeewan Gautam, among others.

This film marks the first project for both the director and the cast. The executive producer is Madhab Wagle. Produced by Capital Media and Princess Movies, the screenplay was written by Sarishma Khatri and director Pudasaini.

Aankha

The film "Aankha," produced by Smita Lamichhane, showcases the struggle between state mechanisms and the management of squatter settlements in Kathmandu. Directed by Jawan Yonjhan, the film features performances by Smita Lamichhane, RK Mehta, Bijay Baral, Nisha Adhikari, Buddhi Tamang, Saroj Khanal, Pashupati Rai, Krishna Bhakta Maharjan, Rajan Khatiwada, Prabin Khatiwada, Luniba Tuladhar, Rabindra Jha, and Abhayraj Baral. Child actor Prasan Rai plays a significant role in the film.

The executive producer is Narayan Prasad Baral, with editing by Krishna Bhandari and director Yonjhan.
