Khusma: A love story premieres today

Kathmandu, September 19 — On the occasion of Constitution Day, the film Khusma has been released. Following the tradition of launching new Nepali films on Fridays, this film has premiered today to celebrate the special occasion. However, it has not been screened at all theaters across the country, as some venues are still showing films like "Shambala" and Bollywood's "Stree 2," which were released in previous weeks.

Khusma is a love story set against the backdrop of the Magar community, written and directed by Ashok Thapa Magar. The film features performances by Dhiraj Magar, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Maotse Gurung, Khadka Bahadur Pun (Khabapu), Sujata Rai, Bijay Sanjog Subba, Raju Resmi Magar, Raj Thapa Kauchha, Astitwa Bhattachan, Sangeeta Thapa Magar, Arun Pun Magar, Sara Rai, Shweta Mishra, Bibesh Magar, and Dui Sang Thing, among others.

The film premiered last Tuesday evening at Big Movies in Kamal Pokhari, attended by politicians, filmmakers, and media personnel. Many attendees expressed that the story resonated with them.

Produced under the banner of M Media Pvt. Ltd., Khusma is written and directed by Ashok Thapa Magar, who has previously worked on several documentary films.

The film is produced by Bir Bahadur Lama, Chandra Bahadur Bhattachan, Man Bahadur Dhanaaha Magar, and Betan Magar, with co-producer Susmita Budhathoki.

Set within the Magar community, this love story depicts a romance that blossoms amid the impact of the people's war. The film features music by SD Yogi and Chhanju Park (Korean), and is distributed by Govinda Shahi's Kafiya Films.
