'Mukam Ranamaidan' wins Madan Puraskar 2080

Kathmandu, August 30 – Mohan Mainali's book Mukam Ranamaidan has been awarded the Madan Puraskar for the year 2080.

The ‘Madan Puraskar Guthi’ announced on Friday that Mainali will receive the award for his book, with a prize of four lakh rupees.

Previously, the Guthi had selected five works for consideration. The selected books included Bhakta Syangtan's ‘Damphuko Atmalap’, Jiwan Kshetri’s ‘Nun-Tel’, Bhavesh Bhumari and Pranita Chamling's ‘Bhavlipi’, and Roshan Thapa's ‘Santras ka Sathi Din’.

The Madan Puraskar Guthi, established in 2012 BS, first presented the award in 2013 BS. The initial awards were given to Satya Mohan Joshi for ‘Hamro Lok Sanskriti’ in the prose category, Chitaranjan Nepali for *General Bhimsen Thapa ra Tatkalin Nepal’ in the social science category, and Balaram Joshi for ‘Adhikbibhab Sthirbidhyut Utpadak’ in the science category.

Professor Yogendra Prasad Yadav will also be honored for Jagadamba-shree 2080, posted Kunda Dixit on X, chairman of Madan Puraskar Guthi.
