Patan High Court orders to summon both parties in Sandeep Lamichhane's Case

KATHMANDU: The Patan High Court has issued an order to summon the involved parties in the case of cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane.

Lamichhane was previously convicted in a rape case by the Kathmandu District Court (KDC).

A division bench consisting of Chief Judge Nripadhwaj Niraula and Justice Krishna Ram Koirala issued the order in response to a writ filed at the court, seeking the reversal of the KDC's decision.

On January 10, the Kathmandu District Court sentenced cricketer Lamichhane, who was found guilty in the rape case, to eight years in prison along with a fine and compensation of Rs 500,000.

Lamichhane had appealed the district court's verdict to the high court.

The High Court, on Friday, issued the order to summon both sides of the case for April 15.
