Bharatpur metropolis calls for construction bids for Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium

KATHMANDU: Exciting developments unfold as the Bharatpur Metropolitan City invites bids for the construction of the Gautam Buddha Cricket Stadium, heralding a pivotal moment in sports infrastructure advancement.

In the initial phase, the metropolis seeks proposals to finalize the stadium's remaining infrastructure, valued at approximately Rs 1.1 billion.

Previously hindered by financial constraints, the construction of the stadium in Bharatpur metropolis-15 encountered delays. However, with the Dhurmus Suntali Foundation unable to secure adequate funding, the metropolis has assumed responsibility for ensuring its completion.

Eligible companies are encouraged to submit tender applications within a 30-day timeframe.

With 70 percent of the investment contributed by the Bagmati provincial government and the remaining 30 percent by the Bharatpur metropolis, collaborative efforts aim to realize this essential sporting venue.

Mayor Renu Dahal expresses confidence in the project, anticipating its readiness to host the U-19 Women's Cricket World Cup in 2027.

Designated as a national pride project by the government, the construction of the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium underscores its significance for the nation.

The winning bidder is entrusted with completing the construction within two and a half years, ensuring the timely establishment of this vital sporting infrastructure.
