New appointed TU VC Baral pledges to implement new academic calendar

KATHMANDU: Prof. Dr. Keshar Jung Baral, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University (TU), has emphasized his commitment to developing and implementing a new academic calendar as his top priority.

In an interview with Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) on Thursday evening following his appointment, VC Baral stressed the importance of establishing an annual academic calendar and ensuring its full execution. "Creating and effectively implementing an annual academic calendar is paramount at this juncture. It stands as my foremost objective," he affirmed.

Acknowledging the significant size and structure of TU, Baral underscored the multitude of tasks involved in its reform process. He pledged to work towards conducting examinations and publishing results in a timely manner. "Furthermore, updating TU's syllabi is also among my immediate priorities," he added.

Baral's appointment to the position was made by Prime Minister and University Chancellor Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'. The PM Secretariat confirmed that he received his appointment letter today, and he is slated to assume office at Kirtipur later in the day.
