5.0-magnitude quake hits New Britain Region, Papua New Guinea: GFZ

NEW YORK, Dec 12: An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted the New Britain Region, Papua New Guinea, at 17:36:02 GMT on Monday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicentre, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 6.87 degrees south latitude and 150.22 degrees east longitude.
