International Folk Cultural Festival to be held on March 5
Nawalparasi - An international folk cultural festival is to be held on the bank of the Narayani river at Gaindakot here from March 5.
The international folk cultural festival will bring artists from 10 countries including Italy, Greece, Israel, Costa Rica, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia and Indonesia besides Nepal. The artists from these countries will be showcasing their unique folk culture in the festival.
Culture Media House, the festival organiser, has said that the festival is being organised to bring the foreign artists to Nepal and to promote Nepal's art and culture in the international arena. The festival will also promote cultural exchange, said programme coordinator and folk artist Deepak Khadka. He believes that the festival will also contribute to promoting tourism.
The folk cultural festival will incorporate the unique culture of various indigenous nationalities of Nepal including Magar, Gurung and Tharu ethnic communities. The festival is estimated to cost Rs 5 million.
