19th Asian Games: One E-sports, Two Taekwondo, and Three Judo players from Nepal defeated

KATHMANDU, Sep 24: Two Taekwondo players have been defeated in the first round in the ongoing 19th Asian Games being held in Hangzhou, China. 

Nepal’s Swastika Tamang lost to Diyanah Aqidah Binte Muhammad Dia of Singapore in the first round of Women’s Individual Poomsae, while Nepal’s Prem Bahadur Limbu lost to Pakistan’s Qadeer Aqdus Ullah in the quarterfinal of Men’s Individual Poomsae.

Similarly, three Judo players from Nepal have also been knocked out of the tournament. 

In the Men’s under 60 kg contest, Nepal’s Vikas BK lost to Omirov Aybek of Turkmenistan. Nepal’s Indra Bahadur Shrestha was defeated by Hong Kong’s Martin Lau in the Men’s under 66 kg group. In the Women’s under 52 kg group, Nepal’s Debaki Maya Shrestha was defeated by Lkhagvasuren Sosorbaram of Mongolia.

Likewise, Nepali Player Sameer Gurung has been defeated by Macau’s Tong Hang Sam in the E-sports qualification round.
