Nepali Volleyball players to get monthly remuneration

KATHMANDU, Sep 5: The players in the national women's and men's volleyball teams will get monthly remuneration. For the first time in the history of Nepali sports, volleyball players are receiving a monthly remuneration.

In a program held on Tuesday, the Nepal Volleyball Association informed that 12 male and 12 female players in the national team are going to be paid monthly at the rate of five thousand rupees each.

Currently, the association is going to provide monthly remuneration to the players in collaboration with former volleyball players, volleyball lovers and other helpers currently living in America. According to the association, Ram Shrestha, a former player of the Nepali volleyball team who is currently in America coordinated this.

According to the association, three months' remuneration sent by the helpers from America for the volleyball players has already arrived in the account of the association. Accordingly, the association has already provided the players the remuneration for the months of September, October and November at once.

The association has also said that it is planning to increase the facilities of the players in the future. Volleyball is also the national sport of Nepal. Currently, only cricket and football players in Nepal get monthly remuneration.

"This is the first time in the history of Nepali volleyball that the members of the volleyball team have received a monthly remuneration. The current working committee of the association will continue to coordinate with volleyball lovers in other countries to provide this type of facility to the players throughout its tenure. The Nepal Volleyball Association salutes the generous helping hands in the United States for helping us," it has been said in the press release issued by the chairperson of the association, Jitendra Bahadur Chand.
