Film Committee submits application to include Nepalese films for Oscar Award

KATHMANDU, Aug 29: The International Feature Film Selection Committee (Nepal) has submitted an application to include Nepalese films in the International Feature Film category for the "96th Oscar Awards".

The Committee issued a statement and submitted an application to feature Nepalese films in the award competition. The film that wants to be nominated for the award should have come out within the time frame of December 1, 2022 and September 30, 2023.

In order to be eligible for the Oscar Awards, along with the application, a censored certificate of the film, proof that it was released in OTT instead of the theatres, a video of 35 m.m. or 70 m.m. or digital cinema packaged in 24-48 frames, a digital cinema with the projection resolution of 2048 to 2080 pixels, audio available in 5.1 or 7.1, names of all directors, producers, actors as well as technicians (in the order of the credit titles shown in the cinema, a brief summary of the movie in English (story), director's filmography and photo, 3 to 5 still pictures of the movie, an official poster of the movie release, and other proofs must be submitted within seven days.

The International Feature Film Selection Committee (Nepal) was formed under the leadership of Director Raju K.C. in order to include Nepalese films in the international feature film category for awards.
