Nepathya Japan Tour: Nepalese fans in Fukuoka Bewitched

FUKUOKA, Aug 14: After their concerts in the Capital Tokyo, Nepathya was warmly welcomed in Fukuoka as well as they hit the stage on Saturday evening. It has been estimated that there are roughly 10 thousand Nepalese in Fukuoka.

The doors of the civic hall opened at 6 pm, which was also the scheduled time, and the concert began at 7 pm. The pioneers of the Nepali folk-rock genre, Nepathya, played ‘Koshi ko Pani yo Jindagani’ at the beginning after the video broadcast of the music videos of ‘Saa Karnali’ and ‘Mai Mari Jaaunla’.

The songs ‘Bhedako Oon Jasto’, ‘Chhekyo Chhekyo’, ‘Aanganai Bhari’, ‘Lampate Surati’, ‘Chari Maryo’, ‘Jomsome Bajarma’ and ‘Shirphool’ were played followed by an interaction with the crowd by the frontman Amrit Gurung. In the interaction, he talked about the Nepali society which has been diminishing due to people moving out of the country.

In the end, Nepathya played ‘Resham’, ‘Taal ko Pani’, and ‘Rato ra Chandra Surya’, where the waving of the Nepali flag could be seen all over the place when one person threw the Nepali flag which he was holding towards Amrit. While Amrit picked up the flag, bowed to it, and requested not to throw such an important thing so that it would fall on the ground and asked the audience not to do things that would devalue the National flag. This made people emotional and at the same time, there was a large applause showing support for the statement.

The fame of Nepathya’s concerts has started reaching Japanese people’s ears as well. A Japanese Scholar of the Nepali language Harahuto Noju expressed his joy and awe while he was in the concert by writing a post on Facebook. Similarly, the Japanese Embassy has also posted the success of Nepathya’s concert in Fukuoka on its Social media platform.

Those supporting Amrit Gurung on stage, as usual, are Dhruba Lama on Drums, Suraj Thapa on Keys, Subin Shakya on bass, Niraj Gurung on Guitars, and Shanti Rayamajhi on Madal. After the completion of the Fukuoka concert, the team traveled to Osaka on Sunday and is scheduled to play there on August 17.
