Koshi Provincial Assembly called for August 18
BIRATNAGAR, Aug 14: The Provincial Assembly of the Koshi Province has been scheduled for the 18th of August.
The Secretary of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, Gopal Prasad Parajuli, made the information public through a notice.
The meeting had been postponed on June 30 after the former Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki failed the vote of confidence.
Due to the Koshi Provincial Assembly failing to function regularly, two replacement bills registered in the Parliamentary Secretariat have become inactive.
The bills brought to replace the Province Civil Service Act (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2080 and the Local Service (Formation and Operation) Ordinance, 2080 have become inactive.
The constitution consists of a provision to introduce a bill to replace the ordinance within 60 days of its submission to the parliament. The government is preparing to introduce a replacement bill through the Provincial Assembly.
