"Many cases are brought up with the intention of scaring and trapping people" - Baburam Bhattarai

BUTWAL, Aug 12: Former Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Nepal Socialist Party (NSP) Baburam Bhattarai stated that many cases are brought up by the ruling party with the intention of scaring and trapping their opposition. He also said that he will fully support the investigations so that this doesn't happen.

Chairman Bhattarai, went to Butwal for the Party's Provincial-level Training Program, held a press conference on Friday and said that a decision was made in the Lalita Niwas case while he was the Prime Minister and that he would support the investigation by giving his testimony.

He also claimed there are many other cases like the Lalita Niwas case so there should be fair and high-level investigations. He expressed that he was happy with the court's decision to investigate the former Prime Ministers. He also mentioned that the decision made while he was the Prime Minister was small and inconsequential.

Bhattarai stated that cases like the Lauda scandal, the Lalita Niwas case, Cantonment and other procurement cases should all be investigated. He also revealed that there is even a record of him speaking for an impartial investigation in the Parliament.
