Devghat needs to be developed as site of cultural-tourism: President

Tanahu, Devghat, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that the Devghatdham should be developed into an attractive cultural-tourism site with all required infrastructure.
Inaugurating the Dhandhyanchal Birat Gyan Mahayagya organised by the Galeswar Ashram here today, she said Devghat should be promoted as a centre important for all who believe in religion, peace and fraternity.
Stating that the tourism sector has a significant contribution to Nepal's economic development, she lauded the role played by the Galeswar Ashram in modernizing Sanskrit education based on eastern philosophy.
At the programme, Tanahu constituency no. 1 Member of Parliament Krishna Kumar Shrestha said lack of publicity and physical infrastructure has stopped Devghat and other important sites in Tanahu from becoming known across the globe.
Pithadhish of Galeswar Ashram Atmananda Giri, Pithadhish of Harihar Sanyas Ashram Gyanananda Saraswati and Pithadhish of Mahesh Sanyas Ashram Ramanananda Giri said it was a mistake to have made Nepal a secular state, and that it should be corrected.
On the occasion, the President also inaugurated a newly built Narmadeswar Shiva temple and a dharmashala. The temple was built by the Galeswar Ashram at the cost of Rs. 90 million. Likewise, the dharmashala built at the cost of Rs. 25 million can host 500 people at a time.
