UML demands Home Minister’s resignation in NA meeting

KATHMANDU, July 27: The main opposition party CPN UML has demanded the resignation of Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha, also demanding an investigation on him, in the National Assembly meeting being held on Thursday.

Speaking in the contingency time of the meeting, UML parliamentary party leader Devendra Dahal accused Home Minister Shrestha of being involved in the smuggling case of around a quintal of gold in the Tribhuwan International Airport and also demanded the formation of a high-level investigation committee.

He emphasized that NA members should also be included in the committee if a parliamentary investigation committee will be formed. Leader Dahal demanded to form a high-level investigation committee to investigate the gold smuggling case from the root, saying that the government itself has been supporting the smuggling.
