UML demands high-level committee be formed for investigation into recent gold smuggling case

KATHMANDU, July 26: The main opposition party CPN UML has accused the government of protecting those involved in gold smuggling.

Taking contingency time at the beginning of the House of Representatives meeting, Chief Whip of UML, Padam Giri demanded that a high-level committee for investigation be formed claiming that there has been protection of the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Finance Minister in the case of smuggling of around a quintal of gold. 

Giri said that UML will obstruct the parliament unless a high-level investigation committee is formed.
