Maoist leaders unable to meet Indian Foreign Minister during India visit
KATHMANDU, July 26: The leaders of the Maoist Centre have been unable to meet with the Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar during their visit to India.
A five-member team led by Maoist Vice Chairman Pampha Bhusal reached Dehli on the invitation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on July 23.
During their visit, they visited the BJP headquarters twice and held a meeting with various leaders including the BJP Chairman. But so far, they have been unable to meet the Indian Foreign Minister.
According to one of the leaders in the visiting team, a program was scheduled to meet with the Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar on Tuesday. But the time for the meeting couldn't be arranged despite the Minister's secretariat trying to arrange the time.
Maoist leaders are reported to have left for Dehradun on Wednesday. A meeting with BJP leaders as well as a program to perform Ganga Aarati has been scheduled in Rishikesh.
One of the visiting leaders informed that a meeting with the Indian Foreign Minister might be possible tomorrow or the day after.
Maoist leaders are scheduled to return to Nepal on the 28th of July. The Maoist leaders visited the Nepalese Embassy today and held a meeting with the Nepalese Ambassador Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma.
