Communist leader Dalu Chhaya passes away

KATHMANDU, July 24: A leader who fought for the Communist Movement of Nepal, Dalu Chhaya (Dal Bahadur Bhujel) has passed away at the age of 77. Born in 2003 BS in Dharan of the Sunsari district, he was on the front lines raising awareness among the people against the Panchayati system.

By being close to the Purbakoshi Provincial Committee in the year 2017 BS, he became a member of the Communist Party in the year 2022 BS and worked for the party in the underground period.

In the fight against the Panchayat system, he spent time in jail many times and was also arrested along with the martyrs of the Jhapa movement, but survived by escaping. 

CPN-UML has issued a condolence statement on the death of Dalu Chhaya expressing that his loyalty and contribution to the party will always be an inspiration.

Chhaya, who had recently been undergoing treatment for kidney problems, was honored by UML as a communist warrior on the occasion of the party's founding day on the Nepali month of Baisakh this year.
