Haiti's failed endeavor as England secures win in tough battle
July 22: England secures their first win in a hard-fought battle against the debutants Haiti. The match was won 1-0 by England by a penalty scored in the first half.
The game was decided by Georgia Stanway's penalty which came in the 29th minute of the match. The penalty was retaken after the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) showed the goalkeeper Kerly Theus stepping off her line early in the first penalty attempt.
After a tough challenge, the Lioness are to face Denmark in their second Group D match on Friday.
