Prime Minister Prachanda leaving for Italy today

KATHMANDU, July 22: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' is leaving for Italy today. Prime Minister Prachanda is departing for Italy today to attend the United Nations Food System Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment (UNFSS+2) to be held in Rome.

Prachanda will be departing in the evening, leading a Nepali delegation to the event scheduled to take place on July 24-26, according to Prime Minister's Press Advisor Govinda Acharya.

The Prime Minister will be accompanied by his daughter Ganga Dahal, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Dr. Beduram Bhusal, Member of National Planning Commission Jay Kant Raut, and other senior government officials, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

The head of the government is scheduled to address the official opening session of UNFSS+2 on July 24 in the capacity of the Chair of LDC Group, including the Plenary Sessions on the agenda of School Meals same day and Food System Transformation in Practice on July 25.

On the sidelines of the event, he will hold bilateral meetings with high-level dignitaries of the UN system, including the Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Executive Director of the World Food Program (WFP), and the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), among others.

During his stay in Italy, the Prime Minister will also interact with the Nepali community there over a program being organized by the Non-Resident Nepali Association, Italy.
The Prime Minister will get back home on July 28.
