SAFF Championship: Nepal defeats Pakistan
KATHMANDU, June 27: Nepal defeated Pakistan with a score of 1-0 goals under the SAFF Championship Football Tournament on Tuesday. It is Nepal’s first victory in the tournament.
Aashish Chaudhary scored the first goal in the 80th minute of the game, which became the decisive goal.
The 14th edition of the SAFF Championship is being held in the Kanteerava Stadium situated in Bangalore, India.
In the latest ranking of the World Football Federation (FIFA), Nepal is 174th and Pakistan is 195th.
The match was the last for both Nepal and Pakistan in the group stage. Nepal and Pakistan, who are in Group 'A' of the competition, have already been eliminated from the race for the title.
