KATHMANDU, June 20: Brihat Nagarik Andolan (BNA) has demonstrated a protest in front of the Kathmandu District Court demanding justice for Tribhuwan University Associate Professor Prem Chalaune on Tuesday.

Associate Prof Chalaune went on a hunger strike in front of the Tribhuwan University VC Office after organising a press conference on Monday. He went on a hunger strike claiming that injustice had been done to him. 

On October 6, 2020, the workers of the Nepal Students Association, including TU Nepal Students Association Chairman Hari Acharya, attacked the Associate Professor of Sociology, Chalaune. There was a case against 5 people including Acharya in the District Court Kathmandu. The final hearing of the case was scheduled for Tuesday.

However, even before that, the government decided to withdraw the case against the workers of the Nepal Students Association. Following the government's decision, Chalaune decided to go on a hunger strike.
