15 billion rupees defamation suit filed by Imran Khan

June 2: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has served a legal notice upon the Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau. Imran Khan decided to file a defamation lawsuit of 15 billion rupees against the President. 

Khan claimed that his arrest warrant was issued on a public holiday and was kept in secrecy for eight days. A legal notice was served in this regard.

“I have decided to file a Rs 15 Billion Defamation Suit, against Chairman, NAB. I have served Legal Notice upon him,” Imran wrote in a tweet.

“Ulterior motive was to defame me by arresting me from premises of Islamabad High Court. And show the world that I was arrested on corruption charges,” wrote Imran.

“Nevertheless, act of implicating me in a bogus inquiry followed by my illegal and malafide arrest, have adversely affected my reputation,” Khan stated, “It has subjected me to ridicule. Therefore, I am well within my right to initiate Defamation proceedings.”
