Pep Guardiola named Manager of the Year

KATHMANDU, May 31: English Premier League Club Manchester City’s Manager Pep Guardiola has been named the Manager of the Year. Pep Guardiola, 52, was given the award by League managers after he was declared Manager of the Year by the League Managers Association.

Under the coaching of Guardiola, Manchester City has won the Premier League title for three consecutive years. In the last six seasons, the club has won this title five times.

The Spaniard has received this honour for the third time in his career. Other than Pep, only David Moyes and Alex Ferguson have won the Manager of the Year award three or more times.

The Manager of Man City has expressed that the association’s award is very important to him. “This means a lot to me because my colleagues have deemed me worthy of this award,” he stated.

Under the coaching of Guardiola, Manchester City will play against Manchester United in the FA Cup finals on Sunday. The club will then play against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League on June 10.
