Comedy Champion winner Bharatmani complains he only got 14 Lakhs instead of 25 Lakhs
KATHMANDU, May 16: Bharatmani Paudel, the winner of season 2 of Comedy Champion, has expressed his grief saying that after waiting for a year, he got only half of the stipulated prize money. A car and cash of 25 lakhs were said to be the prize for the winner of Comedy Champion, but Bharat said that he got only 14 lakh 25 thousand.
In a conversation with Himalaya Television's 'Celebs Talk Show', Bharatmani said that he got only half of the said amount. He said that he was surprised to receive only that much money when it was almost a year since he became the winner. He received that much after deducting various taxes and incidental dividend tax from the prize money. He said, "I did not know that such a small amount would come. I thought that it would be cut a little, but I was surprised when it was cut by almost half."
He said, "When asked later about what was deducted, they showed the list of taxes. Nothing could be said." According to him, the various taxes on the car he received as a prize were also deducted from the same amount.
However, he has also said that he has satisfied himself by saying that there is nothing to be done by feeling sad and expressing his displeasure. But he complained that even the car he got as a prize has not been passed in his name yet.
He has suggested that tax should not be deducted from the prize given to the winner and that the prize money should not have been stated too much in the beginning. He said, "It would have been better if they had told me in advance that even if it was a little, I would get this much. I would have been happy with that."
