UML suspends Top Bahadur Rayamajhi

KATHMANDU, May 10: CPN UML  has suspended the party Secretary and member of the House of Representatives Top Bahadur Rayamajhi. UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel informed of Rayamajhi's suspension by issuing a press release on Wednesday.

With UML being accused of trying to save Rayamajhi, UML has decided to suspend Rayamajhi, who is absconding after the police issued an arrest warrant for being involved in fraud by making Nepalese citizens into fake Bhutanese refugees.

It is mentioned in the press release that as soon as the arrest warrant was issued, he had been asked to appear before the investigation agency of the state and clarify his reality in a formal manner. UML said that he also agreed with the leadership on this matter.

However, contrary to the assurance given to the party leadership, the UML also clarified that the central secretariat meeting held on Tuesday took seriously the issue that he was not present at the concerned body and directed him to immediately appear at the concerned body and assist in the investigation.
