Parliamentary committee division, consensus on TRC
KATHMANDU, April 24: Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and CPN Maoist Center have agreed on the division of the Parliamentary Committee. In the meeting of the three parties held at the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, Singha Darbar on Monday afternoon, it was agreed to give the leadership of the three committees to the UML, which will form a special committee on TRC.
Out of the 2 special committees of the Federal Parliament, UML will get the Chairmanship of the State Director Principle Monitoring Committee and Instruction Special Committee. Congress will chair the parliamentary hearing committee.
Padam Giri, chief whip of the UML parliamentary party, told Ratopati that UML has also got the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee and one more committee among the 10 subject committees. According to Giri, it has been agreed to take the bill related to the Constitutional Council directly to the parliament and pass it.
