Ruling alliance parties urge supporters to vote for common candidates in HoR by-elections

KATHMANDU, April 4: Five political parties belonging to the ruling alliance have issued a joint statement urging their party members to vote for their common candidates in the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) by-elections to be held in Chitwan, Bara, and Tanahun districts.

The parties include CPN (Maoist Center), Nepali Congress, CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party, and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party.

The leaders of these parties, including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Sher Bahadur Deuba, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Upendra Yadav, and Mahantha Thakur, have urged their party cadres to support the common candidates. However, two other coalition parties, Janamat Party and Nagarik Umukti Party, did not sign the statement.

The common candidates for the by-elections are Govinda Bhattarai from Nepali Congress in Tanahun-1, Jeet Narayan Shrestha from Nepali Congress in Chitwan-2, and Upendra Yadav in Bara-2.
