EC publishes name lists of candidates vying for vice presidential election
KATHMANDU, March 12: The Election Commission (EC) of Nepal has released the final list of candidates who will be contesting in the upcoming vice presidential election. The election will be held on March 24, 2023, and the elected vice president will serve as the country's second-highest-ranking official.
According to the EC, four candidates have been confirmed to contest in the election. Asta Laxmi Shakya of the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist-Leninist (CPN-UML), Mamata Jha of Janamat Party, Pramila Kumari of the Janata Samajbadi Party, and Ramsaya Prasad Yadav, also of the Janata Samajbadi Party.
