PM: Sports are the basis of labour culture and economy
KATHMANDU, March 7: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said that in today's era, sports are the nation's pride, an important pillar of diplomacy, a strong pillar of international relations, the basis of the national economy, and a catalyst for the development of the culture of labour and hard work.
The prime minister said this while speaking at the 16th Asian Cross Country Championship organized by the Asian Athletics Association and organized by the Nepal Athletics Association in Gokarna, Kathmandu on Tuesday morning.
The Prime Minister added that only those who can properly understand the importance of sports can properly lead the nation and address people's aspirations and that we should all be proud that the sports sector has developed into an important foundation for unity in diversity, good governance, sustainable development and prosperity.
The Prime Minister also said that through sports diplomacy, major wars and man-made disasters have been solved, major conflicts and possible genocides have been avoided and the foundation of mutual cooperation, trust, world unity and reunification has been established and that the government will prioritise the development of the sports sector.
