Nepalese Muay Thai player's hat-trick

THAILAND, Feb. 28: Varun Ghale Gurung, a Muay Thai player from Nepal has scored a hat-trick in a Muay Thai competition organized in Thailand.

Gurung, who has made a history of being the first Nepalese player to beat a Muay Thai player from Thailand, scored a hat-trick by defeating a Thai fighter for the third time in a row. Gurung managed to get his third consecutive victory by a Technical knockout (TKO) over the Thai fighter according to kickboxing rules at the KAT Roadshow episode held in Bangkok.

Gurung, who went to Thailand from Nepal as a professional Muay Thai player, made history as the first Nepali fighter to defeat a Thai fighter in a competition held at the Rajadamnarn Stadium in Thailand on January 20. Similarly, Gurung defeated a Thai fighter in the first 40 seconds of round one in the Max Muay Thai fight held at the Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand on the night of February 12, and won his second victory by TKO.

He had been training and coaching at Erawan Muay Thai Fight Gym in Nepal and is currently training at Med Muay Thai Gym in Bangkok, Thailand. Gurung is from Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-4 Baksila of Khotang. 

He has participated in various national and international Muay Thai competitions.

Muay Thai was started and used by the Thai Army in the Battle of England.

It is the national sport of Thailand.

It is considered a very risky sport.
