CPN-UML Ministers resign as party withdraws support from govt

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: The political landscape in Nepal has taken a dramatic turn as the CPN-UML, a key coalition partner of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government, has decided to withdraw its support. In response, as many as eight ministers of the party, who held positions overseeing various ministries including the deputy prime minister and finance minister, have submitted their resignation letters to Prime Minister Dahal today.

The resignation of the CPN-UML ministers is likely to further complicate matters for Prime Minister Dahal, who now faces the challenge of maintaining stability in the government while addressing the concerns of the other coalition partners.
