Death toll from earthquakes in Turkey and Syria exceeds 50,000

Feb. 25: The lives lost from the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria this month have exceeded 50,000. Turkey's disaster relief agency has stated the death toll from the earthquake in the country has exceeded 44,200, whereas more than 6,000 have died in Syria.

According to the news agency Reuters, at least 60,000 buildings have been damaged by the earthquake; either completely destroyed, shattered, or badly cracked.
Many people have become helpless due to the two strong quakes that hit Turkey and Syria on February 6.
