Four parties agree on reviving the then ruling alliance
KATHMANDU, Feb 25: The four political parties namely Nepali Congress, CPN (Unified Socialist), CPN (Maoist Center) and Janta Samajbadi Party have decided to revive the then ruling alliance formed while President of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba was the Prime Minister of the country.
A meeting of these four political parties earlier at Baluwatar took a decision to this effect.
“The parties have agreed to revive the alliance and we will also make our decision on the presidential election this evening,” said Rajendra Shrestha, JSP leader who also attended the meeting.
Besides, the parties have also agreed to convince Janamat Party, Nagarik Unmukti Paty and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party to join the alliance as well.
Earlier, these alliances broke after the general election after failing to reach an agreement on power sharing.
The CPN (Maoist Center) had then joined hands with CPN-UML and some other political parties including Rastriya Swatantra Party, Janamat Party and Nagarik Unmukti Party and formed a government.
