PM Dahal wants either Deuba or Sitaula to be the next Prez

KATHMANDU, Feb 22: It has been learnt that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has proposed Sher Bahadur Deuba or Krishna Prasad Sitaula to be the next president of the country.

PM Dahal’s proposal came at a time when the Nepali Congress was preparing to file candidacy of its senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel along with Sitaula, Gopal Man Shrestha and Man Bahadur BK.

Likewise, the Loktantri Samajbadi Party is also eying on the post of President. The party wants its Chairman Mahantha Thakur to be elected as the new president of the country.

According to a CPN (Maoist Center)’s leader, PM Deuba wants Deuba to be the president of the country so that Dahal can remain in the post of PM for the next five years.

Following PM Dahal’s proposal, the Nepali Congress has summoned a meeting of its key leaders this evening.

Meanwhile, the CPN-UML, a key coalition member of the Dahal-led government, wants the President to be someone from their party.
