Sandeep heading to Supreme Court against High Court's order
KATHMANDU, Feb. 20: Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane is going to the Supreme Court against the order of the Patan High Court. Advocate Saroj Krishna Ghimire told Ratopati that Lamichhane is preparing to file a petition in the Supreme Court for the review of the foreign travel ban and bail amount imposed by the High Court.
"We will probably go to the Supreme Court tomorrow," said Ghimire. Due to the ban imposed by the court, it is likely that Lamichhane will not be able to participate in the upcoming series in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Similarly, the court had ordered Lamichhane to pay a bail amount of 2 million rupees.
Sandeep, who was arrested on charges of raping a minor, was ordered to be released on bail by the High Court on January 11.
