Turkish goalkeeper dies in earthquake
TURKEY, Feb. 8: The Turkish goalkeeper died in the devastating earthquake in Turkey on Monday. Goalkeeper Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan has died as a result of the earthquake, his club Yeni Maltyaspor has confirmed.
About 8,000 people have lost their lives in Turkey and Syria due to the earthquake.
The club said on its Twitter, "Our goalkeeper Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan lost his life due to the earthquake. Heartfelt condolences."
"We will never forget you," it is further said.
The 28-year-old Turkaslan played six times for Turkish division club Yeni Maltyaspor after joining in 2021.
