Government of India issues press release on "Voice of Global South Summit"

KATHMANDU, Jan. 7: India's Ministry of External Affairs has issued a press release inviting more than 120 countries to a virtual Summit going to be hosted by India. The virtual Summit, named "Voice of Global South Summit" is to be held on the 12th and 13th of January 2023. 
The Summit under the theme "Unity of Voice, Unity of Purpose" expects to bring together countries of the Global South, to share their perspectives and priorities on a common platform.
The Summit is based on the Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, and the initiative is inspired by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, according to the press release.
The press release states that India will act to grab international attention for suggestions from nations participating in the "Voice of Global South Summit". And it will give opportunities even to countries that are not part of the G20, to share their ideas and expectations.
It has also been stated that the Summit envisages ten sessions, and each one expects the participation of Leaders/Ministers from 10 to 20 countries.
