Holi festival being marked in hilly regions today.
KATHMANDU, March 17: Holi, popularly known as a festival of colors, is being celebrated in the Mountain and Hilly region in Nepal on Thursday.
Holi is celebrated in Phagun, the 12th month of the Hindu calendar, which corresponds to February or March in the Gregorian calendar.
The most popular legend in Hindu mythology says the festival marks Lord Vishnu’s triumph over King Hiranyakashipu, who killed anyone who disobeyed him or worshiped other gods.
People play with color, dance and eat various delicacies.
