UML leader Khatri passes away
BHAKTAPUR, May 17: Litterateur Ganesh Bahadur Khatri has passed away today. He was 86. He died at Everest Nursing Home in Kathmandu.
The CPN (UML) leader was born in the Nepali month of Jestha 10, 1992 BS at Nankhel in Suryabinayak Municipality-9. Started the political career with the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, he later joined the CPN (UML) and served the party for the past 20 years. He lost the elections to the House of Representatives. He fielded his candidacy from Bhaktapur constituency 2 from the UML.
The UML leader also served to the society. He contributed to the construction of many temples, roads, bridges and schools in Bhaktapur. He was founding chairperson of a local weekly newspaper, ‘Samaya Samaj’.
Khatri has also authored many works including Janajagaran (a collection of essays), ‘Rogko Ghar’ and ‘Barulo’ and ‘Mahuri’ (a collection of child stories), ‘Ae Bau Ghar Chhodi Jau’ (a collection of lyrical poems) and Paribartit Paila (drama). He is survived by four sons and three daughters.
